Valerie Vyvial

Born and raised in Yokohama, Japan to a Japanese/Chinese mother and a German/Czech father, she moved to London, U.K, to attend University College London where she graduated with a Bachelors in Architecture.

Soon after, she moved to Copenhagen to obtain her European architecture license at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and Design. Having worked in London at Grimshaw Architects on various projects, she subsequently moved back home to Japan to pursue a career where her roots lie. Throughout her career and studies, the focus has been on a multidisciplinary approach with attention to the craft and detail of making. Her international background and experience means her design approach transcends boundaries between Eastern and Western cultures.

Erika Suzuki

11 years experience in interior planning, design, BIM operation. Her career began in real estate, where she gained knowledge in the field by working as a bilingual sales associate in a Tokyo for expats as well as specialising in Hakuba and Niseko properties. In 2010, she moved to Australia to expand her horizons by studying interior design. After 8 years of interior design practice in Melbourne and Sydney, she returned to Tokyo to explore her fascination and affinity towards Japanese craftsmanship, culture, and arts.

Her comprehensive design career highlights how she continues to narrate stories through design and individual character, and explore identities expressed in spaces that pay close attention to crafted details and material selection.
